  2. Sure, I'll share a bit about this painting. This painting was done using burnt umber, ultramarine blue and gesso. I've been enjoying going back to the basics doing some black and white paintings similar to gris(sp?) style paintings. The absence of color allows me to focus more on the mood of the subject. I love painting someone in an everyday act, caught unawares. In this painting it is a child blowing bubbles. There is a tension in seeing someone caught in a private moment. I like that.-Christie
